Czech Dream

Czech Dream is a good movie, but I think is more like a documentary. I liked the movie because it shows the reall power of ads in our lives.
People are very credulous, and and we tend to believe in thing that doesn't even exist, in this case the hypermarket. The movie shows that people's curiosity can get to trick them easily. We believe in almost everything that's said on tv or that we see in magazines, that's why it's such a huge industry. People in the film were attracted by the low prices that were shown in the ads or the flyers, but they were also very confused with the ''don't come, don't spend'' campaign so they only believe what they wanted, that it was refering to the other markets, that this was a superior hypermarket.
I also think this could happer in Colombia, but maybe in a smaller number. People here are very attached to T.V and publicity, so it would be easy to create a tricky campaign. I said in a smaller number cause people in Praga were not used to this kind of things and were also more worried about the political issues they had in that time. But in Colombia, in the other hand, could be advertisement dependence what could make us fall in a tirck like that one.
I agree that advertising manipulates our lifes. Maybe not all of us are so attached to it, but it is everywhere we look, is also the way we are used to live. If it wasn't that way, companies wouldn't spend that huge amount of money in ads. Is an easy way to get to people and it simply will not stop.
