A lil' bit about our history

In colombia, every July 20 its celebrated our National Day (Independence Day) that conmemorates the courage of creoles revolutionaries and theri decision to get the independence from spanish, searching for freedom and equality for all of us that now are colombians.

The histoy says that all this movement began in july 20 of 1810 when the creoles revolutionaries began revolts in a simbollical event called “El florero de Llorente” “Llorente’s vase”.

-Some creole members of the town council went to Llorente’s house asking for a spanish decorations flower vase as a lending beacuse it was be used in the receptio for the Commander Jose Antonio De Villavicencio (Member of Real parlament)
But Llorente used bad treatment with the creoles so they began the anger and knocked Llorente then all the pople who were in the market place began joining to the creoles and began a called deathfull revolt against spanish goverment, some spanish houses who were loyal to the king Fernando VII were invaded and half destroyed.
The town council called an special meeting withe most important personalities of the city and teh next day (July 21 of 1810) was signed the recor with the Independence Declaration from Spanish Goverment and the creoles took control through the cration of the supreme council-

A flower Vase and its history, a man’s arrogance and his discrimination towards creoles and american people were enough to finish with the plebe’s patience .
A scream of glory boom in all Nueva Granada *what is now teh Republic of Colombia) and the independence movement was extended for 9 years aprox.

Some people as me, thinks that the history is not true at all. Colombian people use to celebrate the independence day on july 20 but i think it isn right. Beacuse it was only the signing of the declaration.in the next 9 years lot of battles were fighet between the revolutionaries and royal forces. And the decisive victory was on august 7 of 1819 in the event called “Batalla de Boyaca” (Boyaca’s Battle) and it result with the creation of the Nueva granada’s audience
Colombian people celebrate this day only as the boyaca’s battle but we seems to have no idea that the date of this battle was the real day of independence

Anybody couldnt thought that the independence of a entire nation could arise froma a flower vase
Anybody couldnt thought that the meaning of freedom equality and fraternity were held in a flower vase

It is the history of my wonderfull country that points out that simple things can make infinity of posibilities carrying hopes and satisfactions

And this is how colombian people deeply with all what happens, fighting for their rights their freedom and their country
