Is swimming a good way to lose weight??

There is no doubt that swimming is a complete sport, because you exercise all the parts of your body. But, is it a good way in order to lose body weight? Apparently not, according to some scientific studies, the conclude that:
  • Many people feel like "eating like a horse" after they finish a swimming session, could be fine, because they spend too much calories during the training, that have to be recovered.
  • Swimmers may be so tired from the training that they sleep, sit or otherwise do generally nothing outside of their swimming workouts.
Scientifics explain that swimming may not be the best way to lose weight due to the cooling effects of being in the water. Why? Because when you are in the pool you don't heat up as much as you do on land, and your body does not work in its usual position and also in its usual mean. Swimming does exercise almost the entire body: heart, lungs, and muscles; also, swimming is really great for general fitness, but studies show that it is not the best way to lose weight.

I think that swimming is a very complete sport, but as any other, it needs rigurous diet if what you want is to lose weigth. Is normal that if you spend a lot of energy in the water, your body needs to recover it. The problem is when you eat more than you need , them there will be no result.

It’s interesting to know that not all sports operate in large measure to lose weight, such as swimming. The only way to lose weight is to have complete control over food and take seriously the goal of thinning. But that does not mean that if you practice this sport you will be obese, it’s more probably to keep your status muscular. In other practice this kind of sport helps you maintain good physical condition and highly healthy.

wow, i really thought that swimming was a good way to lose weight but now i know it ain't.

i also think that if you make a lot of sport (swimming in this case) and then you go and eat like a horse, you ain't doing anything, you are losin' your time, you should better eat a little and try to rest some time. if do it this way it's better

I've always considered that any sport was a secure way to lose weight, but i'm not surprised that swimming isn't properly. It has a lot of sense that the temperature you usually have in water is not even the normal temperature you have while runnin' or somethin' else.
Swimming is a good way to shape up, but if you want to lose weight... tray with somethin' else...

after read de blog we can see that swimming is a complete sport because we exercise the entire body but it is not the best way to lose weight because can make us eat more than usual and it can cost the body to gain weight for this reason we must find other methods to lose weight.

It exercise all your body, that doesn't mean massive weight lost but with a great amount of muscles your entire body needs more fat to work properly so in a slower time you'll get the same results.
The thing is that you need inmediate results, that's why swimmers don't train their bodies just under the water they do several training on land, all with a proper diet.

a really example of that is michael phelp, he eat a lot food because he spend more energy in the swimming pool and he maintain this body because he is a sportman and he go to the gym and practise eveyday but a normal person can`t do this method because they don`t have time

In my opinion swimming is a really good sports, because with it you can exercise all your body, this sport is really good value and with a hard working exercise, you would have a better shape, but swimming won´t make you lose weight by itself, you have to submit to a rigurous diet, and becuase of this , i my opinion swimming is a good way to lose weight
