I graduated from the university just 2 years ago. When I was a student, I was very selective in classes I attended. In our system of education all subjects are obligatory and you can’t choose a teacher. But the attendance of many courses was not required so I was attending the classes of the people I liked and showed up to the exams of the rest. I’ve always been aware of my selectiveness; I knew that if I don’t like the person it didn’t mean that s/he was a bad teacher. It’s all about personalities and preferences.
I’ve always had favorite teachers. They could be different: strict or lenient, with a sense of humor or serious, but they were always motivating. I’ve never expected them to come and put a piece of knowledge in my head, but I was always expecting them to show me the ways of getting the knowledge myself. Good teachers challenged my point of view and opened new horizons.
Now I’m a teacher myself and it made me understand that a teacher is just a part of the success. Student’s attitude plays a great role in the class’s success. I have many groups and even when I teach the same book, use the same jokes and anecdotes, my classes are different. They can be interesting and boring, useless and slow, fruitful and fast.
I think that higher education – this is a personal choice and responsibility. The Rector of my university was right when in his speech to us, freshmen, he said: “When you enter university, you have the opportunity to get 100% of knowledge, but a teacher can give you only 10% of it. The rest 90% depend on you. It’s up to you to decide what you get in the end.”

i think that good a teacher is that who makes things look easy when they are difficult. who cares about your knowledge and not in your grades... good teachers are those who makes you a better person every day.
First, Teachers are like a mother, like a sister and the most important teachers are " like a good friend". But Also we have to understand that the teachers are human beings as all. They have good and bad moments...
In my opinion the good students always must search teacher, not only for their way of qualifying, but also for their way of teaching. Often the persons strain more when they are demanded. And is there when the disagreements and shocks of personalities start.
The teachers teach in agreement to their experience, and is reasonable, but sometimes we want the same comprehension from them ...........
n my opinion the good teachers are those who first love what they do and transmit it to their students, why do interesting classes, while a good student is one who is willing to learn
well... actually i have no definitions of what it really means to be a good teacher or a good student... it isn't important at all. I think we can be both; good students when our passion is our brain, not our grade, and a good teacher when we put all of us to spread our knowledge in others... i don't know.. i don't care... just be the way you are, i'm sure you'll become a good of both in that way...
i think that good teachers are always surrounded by good students beacuse good teachers make you feel satisfied when the class is over and you feel intereted in this class or the teacher makes esay things for get as much as you can of knowledge and you get all things that he teached, so it makes a good relation with students and they are motivated to study and learn as much as they can so it creates a good students.
i think the most important in knowledge is not that if we have a bad teacher or a good teacher, because u learn only that u want thats doesnt mean that u dont pass the subjects, because u can pass but u really dont learn is like to try memorize for pass.
a teacher can be a friend if you want to.A student's progress may depend in how he interact with his teacher. as we know,teachers are also humans,they have feelings, so we can take advantage of it ^^.
being teachers' friend is good for us beacause you surely will enjoy their classes and our minds will be ready to learn beacuse we like it,then teachers will like seeing us enjoying their classes so they may help us when we need it.
i know that a teacher-student relation may be in some cases "strange" and i know that students and teachers may not fall into a "very good" relation in wich both can take advantage of each other but they both are humans so..

First, a teachers and students complement each others I can´t think in a definition of teachers without think in the students, and with the students too.
in my opinion a class is not like math 1 + 1 = 2, a good teacher + a good students is not always a good class and for that I think that the class is teh field where teachers and student learn together an the most important thing in this is their actitude and their motivation.
A good teacher in one who push you to your limits in order to make you realize the real potencial that is in you. And as you say it's all about tastes and preferences, not because one is softer and the other is a little hard on you doesn't mean that the first one is better than the second one.
A good student is the one that is always challenging himself in order to improve every day.
I find this post very interesting, I mean, it is just true. A teacher is not just a man or a woman who teaches you, they are more thant that, they are your firends. Although, they cannot do everything for you, you have to be concient about what we are learning. Also, a good student is that who is perseverant, who wants to be better day by day and is not happy with their goals achieved, because he always wants more, thats is a real good student.
A good teacher is an integral person that not only dedicates to teach academically but also it teach values that makes students optimize their knowledge to discover and improve their skills.
A good student is a person that have postive attitude in class, a person that wants to learn more of what he knows, a person who participate in class and study hard. Just expecting more of what he can do.
For me, there are two kinds of teachers: The one who just go to the classroom repeat what's in the book, write something on the board and then just leaves. On the other hand, we can find a good teacher, the kind of person that makes sure you learn what you are suppose to, and besides that s/he teaches things that are meaningful for your life. Teachers are not only there to grade you, I think they're supposed to teach you in the whole meaning of the word.
About good and bad students I could say that a good students is not only the one who gets the best grades or who knows "everything", a good student should be also a good classmate. S/he should be willing to support his partners and to offer them his help. Also, I think a good student is not the one who knows more about something, I think being a good student is more about responsibility,respect, effort and hard work.
I think that a good teacher is a person who cares about what the student doenst understand, and also does different things to make the clase didactic.
A good teacher is someone who wants to share his knowledge and feel happy for doing so.
Good students are those that want to learn a lot of things, for be a better person and to be prepared for the future. They also practice all that the teacher explain and are always looking for new information.
In my opinion a good teacher is that one who give you the chance of get a piece of the knowledge he or she has got from all the experiences he has lived. My point of view as a student is that you are the one who gets the knowledge, you have to study a lot and some times, you have to sacrifice some events like parties or going out with your friends, because if you want to be a good student you have to choose the best for you and if you decide to be good student, there will always be some one whose experiences of teaching will give you a lesson for your live.

He makes his students able to live better life. He teaches students to take decisions in all the conditions. Who is good teacher for his students and also good students for his students and society
Good students are active rather than passive. They try to understand in class rather than just taking notes in class and leaving understanding for later. They are curious and ask questions.
i think a good teahcer is the person who interacts with the student, not just a person who stands in front of the people and starts talking about everything.

I admire very much your point of view and it is not so far away from mine, I think that the work in obtaining knowledge is for students, without his effort, nothing matters good attitude of the teacher, because in the end he will not learn enough. There are different ways to teach, and the concept of a good teacher is relative, it depends on whom and how is the student who judges his. But I think that there is a common comment in the students that the good teacher is one that with the development of his classes does not allow that most of the students lose interest in the subject, because we must consider those students attending a class only for attending.
